10 Common Questions, you should ask your customer to implement the Digital Experience Platform (DXP Part-3)

We talked more about Digital eXperience Platform(DXP) including providers and it’s components to understand how it is working on business level. This post is more for the website enablers(Web Development Companies) and their sales team.

Digital Experience Platform term is not reached to many of people in the market. The whole world is in early stage of adopting this culture on web development. Interesting fact is every website implementation having the DXP components, but we are not utilising those components ability on the different corner. Let’s jump into the list of questions, What sales folks should ask to understand their expectation on DXP implementation.

The below questions will raise lot of detail questions to understand the customer business nature and their expectation of the DXP implementation, But those all will vary business to business. Here i am try to list out the most commonly asked basic questions for any of the business.

  1. What is the business nature of the website? (For e.g:- corporate website, e-commerce website, community website, etc …)
  2. What is the implementation type? (For e.g:- migration from existing system, completely ground up implementation, etc …)
  3. If you already have any implementation, what is the website average traffic? What was the maximum concurrent usage? Do you have any custom tracking events on the website? [Only for existing website implementation]
  4. If you already have any implementation, Have you implemented web analytics on existing website? Will you able share some of the sample reports? [Only for existing website implementation]
  5. What is your budget for the implementation? Do you have procured licensing of any DXP providers?
  6. What is your expected ROI of this implementation?
  7. Are you expecting any targeted experience to the users? Do you have logged in activity in the website? If so, targeted experience implementation is only for post login or for anonymous users?
  8. Do you have plan to use the customer data to activate on different channels? (For e.g:- email, sms, push notification, etc …)
  9. Is scope included the mobile development? (For e.g:- PWA/AMP/ Native apps etc …)
  10. Finally, what are the marketing capabilities you’r trying to improve by implementing DXP platform?

Above questions are very important to ask any of the DXP implementation, which will drive our solution and conversation in very accurate direction.
